I have been involved in photography for over 15 years and unlike most photographers, do not specialise in any one area. I pride myself on being very much a generalist who is adept at whatever is out there. I have covered weddings, portraits, events, sports, travel/cultural (Europe, North Africa, USA, Canada & SE Asia), landscapes/fine art, underwater, macro, commercial, architectural, interiors and last but not least, wildlife. Occasionally I deliver photography seminars for a local university and digital humanities centre, in addition to a growing photojournalism background. I possess excellent writing and communication skills. My education includes a BA in Anthropology/Archaeology, an MA in Maritime Archaeology and a PhD in Archaeology.

I also hold a PADI Divemaster certificate and an Emergency First Responder medical qualification. More recently, I was a finalist in the Guardian's Landscape Photographer of the Year competition (2013), and Wanderlust Magazine Travel Photo of the Year (2013).

My work has appeared online or in print in a number of outlets, including National Geographic, Smithsonian, Guardian, Telegraph, The Times, Wanderlust Travel, Scottish Islands Explorer, and numerous regional newpapers and websites - even the odd tabloid on occasion, though I don't chase celebs!
